did you say rev matching???!! spooge :D

280z/300zx 11-06-2008 03:32 PM

So basically the "nismo" 370z we saw pics of not too long ago was just the nismo body kit that is available to buy? Similar to the nismo kit for the 350z. It's not the actual Nismo 370z? Maybe others were right and we won't see a true nismo Z until near the end of the 370z run

SniperHunter 11-06-2008 03:36 PM

Once again, Waizzz was correct. The all new 6MT can do a proper rev-match automatically, that's incredible.

SnakeBitten 11-06-2008 03:37 PM

I guess Ill be the first and maybe only one to say this...That body kit is nasty...Do not want......

Great find OP!!

DIGItonium 11-06-2008 03:39 PM

I've never ordered the S-Tune package. Does anyone have past experience? Do you order the S-Tune package before taking possession of the car? I might opt for S-Tune without the Nismo wheels.

yes

also from the parts sheet i posted. it looks like a lip and full bumper will be offered. also 19L LZ5 wheels a full exhaust and suspension just like previous S-tunes

with that said you most likely wont see the full bumper in the US and it will need to be imported just like the V2 for the 350z was. but i hope the lip and side /rear skirts will eventually be dealer add on options

stepuckey 11-06-2008 03:56 PM

we need color pics (front) ASAP! (btw, +1 on the find OP - thnx)

350Zforlife 11-06-2008 03:56 PM

Great find eemcee ;) Da*n! only if I knew Japanese.

I have to agree that waizzz did tell us that in the focus group meeting, they kept bringing this topic up. Having a 6MT with rev matching is something I really have to see

How do you think it'll work?

Probably the same gear shifting pattern as 6MT but no clutch? as you up shift, it automatically puts the gear in place. Also, as you downshift, there's maybe a little clip before every gear that initiates the throttle blip and you get a rev match?? Very interesting.

:)

zsport1 11-06-2008 04:03 PM

Nice. I like the LM wheels better than the stockies. :icon21:

:)

na unless they invented heel toe with the dead pedal there is a clutch

basically what i gather from this is. it does what the auto does now by bliping the throttle when you downshift

the pic is showing you the traditional way of doing it then telling you dont need to use the heel toe technique as the car now does it for you

yea they are similar to the LMgt4 but have a split like the stock wheel at the top of the spoke

shame they wont make then in 20"s for a certain other car

spf4000 11-06-2008 04:16 PM

Yay, so all the posers can now pretend like they know how to heel-toe!

But this will reduce the number of accidents caused by dumb drivers shift locking the rear wheels.

all japanese converisons

looks like 31,880 for the base 6MT

38,350 -41K for the ST (our touring) 6MT

40,300- 42,100 for the 7AT

From what i can see the first price is that base cost of the car:

3,105,000.00 Yen todays yen rate is 97 to one dollar, or about
$32,000.00 again that's based on the yen rate. The second and third prices are luxury, insurance, delivery and things like that. That would only apply to Japanese nationals.

350GT 11-06-2008 04:24 PM

Thanks buddy! $31,880 for base.. that's almost 5k increase over 2003 base price.. but the touring is only about 2k over 03's touring. Interesting.

370Tech, I sent you a PM, hit me back when you have a chance?

also the trims are different

the S is i guess like our performance its available in 6MT the T is auto

and the ST is the loaded (think Grand touring or touring with 6mt or 7AT)

so your looking at right under 32K to 42K spread. again in japan.

That's absolutely awesome man.

I would say great find, but I dont think you found this info, I'm guessing you scanned it for us... Hmm? :P

Any chance you know about release dates? My buddy at Nissan of Chantilly (dealer in the Follow the Z Tour) said he expects it on the lot in June 09 time, but other people on here have rumored them to be on lots in Jan 09?

Awww. But where's the fun in that? :(

370ZTECH 11-06-2008 05:24 PM

January(ish), they are already in production in Japan and go onsale in December there

350GT 11-06-2008 05:30 PM

Interesting sub-note..

Based on the chart, and interpreting it is 1480kg for the base model, that would mean it is 3262lb.

This is compared to the 2003 3188lb base model, and the 2007/2008 3339lb base model.

Basically, bigger motor, more hp, but about 100lb less than the 2007/8 base model.. but about 100 more than the original 2003 Z, but which also had 287hp compared to the 306 of 2007/8.

DAMN! :icon21:

So how come no dealer is accepting allocation orders? If they will be on lots in 2 months, only 8 weeks, shouldn't some dealers allow people to customize it now? :dunno:

Also, any chance you use AOL? Would be great if there was an easier way of communicating.

no idea why. maybe things will change after the car is unveiled in a few days. i dont think you will see them Jan 1st on lots anyway im thinking mid january- feb when they will start rolling in

350GT 11-06-2008 06:07 PM

Do you know anything about the Nov 11th release of tech specs? Will this include what you basically posted, but for the regular US version?

deisel 11-06-2008 06:31 PM

I will be waiting a year or two for all bugs to b fixed. then I buy the v8 and put on the boost that's a supercharger once again.

I hope that's not the case, since they have been preaching us about a "lighter" 370z.

370ZTECH 11-06-2008 06:43 PM

the chart says 1480kg for the base and 1530 for the ST version

i mean thats still lighter than whats on the showroom floors right now. with all the advancements

but math is math its looks like its 3260 now matter how you slice it :dunno:

I'm gonna' have to butt in and say that my theory was correct the whole time. The weights between the 03-05, 06, and 07-08 Zs haven't changed much. I've mentioned this many times before, but my 06 Touring weighed 3250 stock with all fluids full. Gooey's 07 Enthusiast weighed about 30lbs less than mine. I recall 03-06 base Zs weighing under 3200lbs, so if these numbers are accurate, the 370Z has actually gained weight.

My theory is that Nissan intentionally BSes their weight numbers for the 350Z so that when it comes time to announce the 370Z officially, they can say that the car's shed weight over the 350Z, which was a bloated figure to begin with. We shall see...

Curb weight figures are computed differently in different countries. For instance, many EU agencies also add a 75 kg driver to compute their "curb weight" figures, or something like that. But I don't think Japan is any different than the US.

Anyway, these papers show the curb weight of the base 370Z at 1480 kg. The Japanese Nissan site shows the curb weight of the current base model 350Z at... wait for it... 1480 kg. The current "ST" 6MT as... 1490 kg.

And the current GT-R curb weight on the Japan Nissan site is the same as here... 1740 kg. So it seems they use the same measurements as we do.

Hmph. It doesn't look good.

O.K....... I am not certain about the current Z's, but has anyone driven the new Maxima??? 3550 pounds.....

It feels MUCH lighter than that. It felt as light as the 3300 pound rental Passat I drove.... Even if the Z does weigh 3260, I think it will feel like a 3050-3100 pound car! Nissan has something good going with masking their car's weight in driving feel.

May Nissan is pulling a BMW!! 135i - suppose to be the lightweight heir to the BMW throne but really was only a 'few' pounds lighter than the 335! BUT, most of the 135i drivers say they would NEVER know their car weighed that much....

WAIT FOR IT!!! Nice... I liked that..

I wonder how Nissan is going to talk their way out of this one!!! Even with the larger engine and nicer interior, I still do not see how it weighs the same... I may have to recant later, but I am going to say .... 'wait for it'...

THE 370Z WILL WEIGH LESS THAN THE TRUE WEIGHT OF THE CURRENT Z. BASE MODEL 3160.

Flame suit on; fully prepped to recant when proved incorrect....
