Default Central Alberta Mini/Polishing meet.

Dustin(red35) & Sean(Karma) had been asking me about polishing aluminum, I have a few things on my car i polished but i am far from a pro but they look ok. So we decided to get together at my house and work on polishing a few parts. Dustin had some brackets and intake piping to polish and Sean went all out and polished his upper intake plenum. We were all happy with the results and the pictures dont really do the parts justice. I appologize for not posting a formal invite but I was not overly confident in my skills or passing them on to others so they could make a mess of there parts but in the end it worked out. We are planning another get together where A few guys will be DIY installs on a few parts they purchased I will post a formal invite for that one close to spring.

Looks good Gord, did you use any power tools. I really like the 3M Scotch Brite disks that go on a 4" hand grinder, these:

These work really well, and bring the aluminium to a shine in a hurry. All you got to do is maybe sand with some 2000 grit and polish. I also have 2" 3M Scotch Brite disks for my pneumatic die grinder, for those tough to reach places. It sure beats sanding with 80grit and moving all the way to 2000grit. I will probably polish my intake when it comes off the car for injector install.

Ya for the intake we (Sean) used those discs on cordless drills it all we had for the majority of the work. I helped him with most of the hand sanding it looks really good in person the pictures dont show the shine at all. It will spice up the engine bay for sure.
