Question Tire brand selection

I have been shopping for new wheels and tires. I currently have the 17" wheels and the factory Bridgestone tires. I can't say that I am extremely happy with either. I believe I am going to go with 19" wheels with 8.5 width on the front and 9.5 on the rear with a 20-22mm offset.

The question is, has anyone put a model/brand of tire on their Z that they are very happy with? I have been looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport or the Goodyear Eagle F1.

I am of the opinion that most of the "noise due to feathering" from the Bridgestone tire is due to the fact that the Bridgestone Potenza is a crappy, cheap tire design. The fact that you can't rotate them just makes the problem worse.

It's more caused by the softness of the tire and how quickly the tread blocks wear. If you don't want the tires to wear as quickly get the tire with the longest tread life. Remember though that the tread rating is a manufacturer specific number and can't be compared to different brands.

I like the Eagle F1 although I have tried the Michelins, and they were also very good.

"Noise due to feathering" is not solely due to tire make. A better tire (such as the Eagle F1) only delays the onset of noise due to feathering if your suspension is out of alignment. ALIGNMENT is the key here!
