Actually, that is there due to hurricane code requirements. When our house was built in 1996 the new code had kicked in but there weren't many hurricane rated doors available so the builders were required to reinforce conventional doors to pass inspection.

Just a little South Florida post-Andrew hurricane trivia for you.

no joke - I really wanna see how the silver of the wheels matches with the ext. color of the car (since that's what I have on order)
