Default Bent rim

Guys,

I have a bent rim (goes outward at the edge of the rim), but it is hardly noticeable.

I plan to unmount it tomorrow and put it against a flat surface with the air taken out of the tire. Then use a rubber mallet to hit it back to original spec.

Does it seem like a doable task?

Btw, the rim is a Volk GT 7.

i wouldn't do it if i were you.

does the steering wheel vibrat while you know its bent?????

if not then don't do anything with the wheel, it could cause more trouble.

if its fine teh way it is then leave it.

Sang,

I bought it used from a forum member. So far its driving normal ( I haven't taken on the freeway yet).

I am just going to leave it as is. Just a slight bent.

heys guys, i am on the same boat as tracting, but mine's on the inner side. but not leaking air luckly. should i still go head and get it fixed? i am scared of it when i am driving hard or kinda drifting, making the tire move around and make the air leak out from that bent spot. am i wrong about this? let me know guys.
oh and Tracting, i am sorry if i hijacked your post. let me know if you do mind, i will edit this post and erase it.
thanks

nureulsaranghae,

Not at all. We can learn from this. How did you get the bent rim? Inner side is near the edge and close to the rubber (mine is that part) Post a pic if you can. I will post it tonight.

I took it for a freeway test and drove til 75 mph and seems okay

I bought mine used and didn't noticed (at night), plus i had a great deal from a member.

I gave him my stock (about 11.5k miles, look new) and gave him a $1k cash. The member was trading his car.

The rim had about 1500 miles on it.

Btw, this is the first low profile tires/rims I ever had. How do bent rims usually happen? Is most caused by potholes because of the low profile and strenght of the rim?
