Default Switching 275/35/19 to 285/30/19...worth it???

Gotta get new spring tires.....currently have RE050 275/35/19 in the rears....changing to a EVO 3.9 final drive in the next 6 months too.....any real advantage to going 285/30/19 in the rear???

The correct size would be 285/35/19. 285/30 will throw off VDC/TCS. Ive got 285/35/19s on mine and will most likely stick with that size once its time to replace them.

You do know this is smaller right? Although it may seem to be wider, because of the 285 VS 275 your down grading on the height which will result in a "streched" look. Keep in mind 275 tires were meant to be mounted on a 9.0-11.0 rim width. If I were you I would keep the 275x35 tire sizing...

if your looking for a more equal match in height to a 245/35 front tire than the 285/30 will look great. the wheels width has alot to do with how things will look together as well. the 285/30 will have an extreme similar look as the 275/35 as far as width to rim fitment/stretch is concerned. a 275/30 would look more stretched campared to a 275/35 than a 285/30 in comparison to a 275/35. also, the 285/30 doesnt show problems with VDC/TCS when used with a 245/35 front. i have a couple friends with the 245/35 & 275/30 combinations with no problems even though the front tire has a tad more height than the rear(go figure). i also personally had 225/40/18's at all 4 corners when i purchased my used 03 z. no problems with VDC/TCS what-so-ever. a local friend of mine runs the 245/35 & 285/30 combo & i think it looks much better IMO! he too has the eibach lowering springs & he has a much more even stance compared to mine with the 245/35/19 & 275/35/19. he also has no trouble at all with VDC/TCS. it depends on what your looking for truthfully. if you want to switch to even out the height stagger a bit than this is the best choice IMO. im contemplating the swap myself & i have less than 2k miles on my 275/35's(dont drive the z much)........**disclaimer** my statements are based on real life experiences i have seen with my own eyes, im not trying to start a war with anyone or say anyone is wrong. if i didnt see the results with my own eyes i surely would steer somone in the wrong direction as far as VDC/TCS is concerned. every z reacts differently so take it as you will (=

Had 285/30/19 before for months without a single VDC issue on the street or the track.
