Default MB Motorsports wheels & Falken Tires

I found this combo on Discount Tire Direct:

17x9 +27 offset MB Motorsports Weapon wheels (four)

Falken Zeix ZE-512 tires (245/45/R17 99Y), four of them.

All for $856. I think the wheels would look alright. I searched all over this site trying to find references to MB Motorsports, or the ZE-512 tires, but found nothing. The tires got pretty good reviews on epinions.. but that's epinions . I'm thinking about getting these just as some daily driver wheels and tires. Not really looking for high performance, but I want to make sure that the car isn't going to totally overwhelm these tires or wheels, or that the tires will ruin the handling of the car. Does anyone have any experience with either the wheel or tire?

{edit: the link didn't work, so I'm posting a screenshot}

Check out this thread for pics of them on a 350Z. I think they are good looking wheels. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....hreadid=107654

well, the price is great. freaking fantastic really. I think the savings is in the finish. I've read they have a clearcoat. I'm not seeing it on this set. But any shop can add one for a few bucks. I dont see any runs in the paint, but there are few imperfections here and there... but I saw a few in my OEM wheels too. The finish doesnt strike me as very tough. There are some very minor rough spots. My coworkers didnt notice anything, so they are that kind of minor that only you the owner will notice. In all, I think they seem to be a good value. But I havent driven on them yet

oh, and rated for 690kg, which is fairly standard for cast rims I'm told.

Wow! Sounds like a winning setup then. What tires are you running?

255/45 R18 Continental's ContiSportContact all way around. Wanted to keep cost relatively low, but i'm very impressed with these tires for there price.

I stand corrected.. the powdercoat shop did a bake test on the existing coat.. its already powdercoated. I was surprised as they are so inexpensive.. The shop told me its really cheaper for them to powdercoat than paint at the factory. SWEET. They are going to powdercoat over the existing. they said it was tough enough.

Guys, these are made by A-Tech in Japan.

They're affordable because they are Discount Tire's "house" brand.

Yeah, I think I need a set of these, I just need to save a little cash. Maybe in a month or so. Just have to ask, do forum members get a discount on the package I showed?

Well, I shopped around for A-techs Weapons before settling on DTD's MBMs. The same wheel through other 'discount' places was right at $800 shipped. Without working the numbers (I got a package deal), I'd say DTD was about $45 per wheel less. I assumed that DTD has these at a lower price because they were selling out of certain colors and sizes. I dont know.. but your prices are so good, its scaring people

I know A-tech is in Japan, but my boxes said made in Taiwan But I was told that didnt mean much anymore as many decend wheels are being made there now.

In calling around, I got the impression that our Z/G fitment is selling out quickly.. at least current stock. my 18x8+30 is pretty scarce in Atech or MBM.
