Default would these spacers cause rub???

well i originally got a crazy deal on some rims. good news is i got 19's with tires for under 1600, bad thing is that the offset was wack. so i am thinking about some spacers. i need to know if i am going to cause any rubbing.

fronts: 245/35/19 with a horrible 40 offset. i am going to go 20 or 25mm here, pretty positive this wont cause any rubbing.

rears: 255/40/19, with a 35 offset. still tucked in a bit but i want a 20mm offset here also. does anyone know if this will rub, cause if i understand right it basically will make a 15 offset, right?? could i go 25mm?? too much??

any help is appreciated.

Your final 'offset' in the front will be 15 if you go with the 25mm spacer, which is what my Axis Milanos are natively. No issues there with that tire size.

In the rear, I would be very concerned about your choice of tire size. You need to maintain an approximate 3% variance in diameter between front/rear, and the sizes you've specified are at 4.75%. This is HIGHLY unadvisable and I wouldn't do it.

If you are determined to run a 40 sidewall in the back, you would need to go to a 235 tire, and that would look quite odd (not to mention the potential handling consequences. I really recommend you look at a 275/35 for the back, as that would put you at a 3.09% variance, which is what most people that run 19's are using.

Regarding your offset, I think with a 15 in the rear, you'll be really close. My Milano's are 20's in the rear and it's pretty tight, but my car is lowered.

Good Luck!

well i did some extensive research on the tire sizing last year and in fact have driven on these tires for the better half of last summer and there was no problems whatsoever. having a difference greater than what is recommended is not bad at all. only time that it would be bad is when it was not good weather out cause having a difference that is more than rec. makes the computer think the tires arent spinning at all, thus not kicking in the TCS and VDC as easily. if one has to error on either side of the stagger, you are definately better going on the high side. anything on the low side cause the TCS to kick in prematurely.

with that said though, thanks for the info on the spacers and the rubbing.
