Default Nismo exhaust

Hey guys, I just bought my 2003 track edition 350z on monday night. When I was inspecting the car I noticed that it had a Nismo exhaust. Upon further inspection I noticed that it appeared to have Nismo suspension parts up front I tried to find some indication of what suspension was in back and could not. I have two questions.

1. How would I tell whether the car has a full three piece exhaust or just the Nismo muffler? Is it a very distinct difference?

2. I am assuming that the rear suspension would also have red springs if it was Nismo? And should also say Nismo like the fronts do?

Sorry I know there very noob questions but I am about to go put the car on a lift and just wondered.

The NISMO Y-pipe is "longer" then the stock pipe. The NISMO Y-pipe and resonator sections are larger diameter than stock - 76mm vs 60mm.

I can't imagine anybody getting just the muffler so I'd bet you have the full catback system.

Dave's got it right on the exhaust. The Nismo muffler has a totally different connection point for the mid-pipe, so the stock piece wouldn't even fit. Also, the Nismo mid-pipe has a cylindrical resonator that's polished like the muffler. The stock mid-pipe has a goofy shapped resonator that's just unfinished like the stock muffler. As far as the y-pipe, the easiest way to tell is that the stock y-pipe is covered with sheet-metal heat shields so you can't actually see most of the piping. The Nismo y-pipe has no heat shielding and is just bare piping.

The Nismo suspension has red springs and silver shocks, front and back.

Here is the official Nismo US site:

Browse through the 350Z parts to get an idea of what they look like.

well I put my car up on a lift last night. I have to say that I am really happy with the results that I found. Turns out that the person who ahd the car before me treated it like it was his/her first born. Everything under the car looked great. The car already has the following list of mods:

Nismo exhaust
Nismo suspension
Nismo sway bars
Nismo front strut tower bar

now I just need a camber kit and an endless supply of money

Really? You need a camber kit? You should be able to get with in specs with the NISMO setup. You might want to take it to a good alignment shop and see if they can get it with in specs before you go and buy a camber kit.

I knew that it had the Nismo exhaust, that was kinda hard to miss. But the rest of it was a total surprise. I could not be happier with my purchase and look for to many more mods!

Next to come is the R-tune intake and headers.

Nismo front strut tower bar
I'd hate to burst your bubble, but I believe there is no such thing. He may have just stuck a sticker on the stock one.

If the shocks and sway bars are silverish gray, then they're the real deal.

I had a similar experience with my 2003 Performance z, purchased a few months ago.

The only mods that I was aware of when I purchased the car were the Axis Mod 19" and 20" rims. I later discovered a flowmaster muffler and a complete Nismo suspension.
