so maybe 2 weeks ago...
i noticed a shiny object on my rear tire.. i walked over and it looked like a pretty nice size glass piece sticking out of my tire.. and i hear a very faint ssssssss sound. my first reaction was F$)@#@#I.. but my second was how the hell did it get where it was. it wasnt on the flat part of the tire, where all the tread is. it was kind of on the shoulder of the tire near the sidewall. i probaly did the stupidest thing one could do.. but when you see something that is where it shouldnt be.. your immediate reaction is to.. take it out. so i pulled the piece out of the tire and it kind of looked like the bottom of a glass bottle. but after i pulled it.. the faint ssssss turned into a whoooosshhhhhhh... and thank god i had tire plug repair kit that i threw in my trunk just incase of emergencys.. now as i started trying to assmeble the kit... it started pouring rain. the hole was so big that instead of using the normal 1 sticky plug... i had to use 2 big ones. i was kind of skeptical about driving around on a plug'ed Z rated tire.. so the next day i took it to america tire Co.. to see if they could professionaly fix it.. but they said they wouldnt do it because of where the hole is and they couldnt be held liable or something.. i took it to the another tire shop and they wouldnt do it either.
the plug looked like they were holding.. but i took them out and replaced them with 2 more plugs i covered in rubber cement.. but now i'm started to get paranoid everytime i see my rear tire.. sometimes it "looks" like my tire pressure is low due to a leak..
any ideas of any place or how i could professionly fix it ????????
btw the Rear tires are S-03 poles, 285x30YR20

That tire is NOT SAFE, it will fail. ![Frown](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Discount/America's Tire Co. firmly follows the procedures set forth by the RMA (Rubber Manufacturers Association). Once a tire has been punctured the speed rating in no longer valid.

Anything in a place other than the tread (such as the shoulder or sidewall) should not be repaired. Even if you plug in the tread you technically should reduce the rating on the tire.
Unfortunately like the others are saying, you should replace the tire.
