Default Mixing New And Old Tires

I Just Got My Second Set Of Front Tires Due To The Tire Feathering Problem. I Have A 2004 Roadster With 18000 Miles On It. My Question Is My Rear Tires Need To Be Replaced, Is There Any Other Tire That I Can Put On The Rear That Will Last Longer,. I Do Not Want To Change The Fronts At This Point Since They Are New. But Iam Not Sure If I Mix Brands I Will Get The Same Traction As I Do Now. Eventually I Will Have To By New Fronts And Then I Do Not Want To Get The Same One That Came With The Car. Thanks For The Assistance.

Its kinda hard to find a tire that will last long but also grip good cause the best gripping tires are made from a softer compound and they tend to wear quicker than a all-season/winter tires(hard compound). Its ok to have 2 seperate brand tire on the front and rear but for best handling the tire should all be that same so if you plan on tracking your car I would keep all the tires the same
