Default Volk GT-C's 17" Or no?

I might be getting my hands on some Volk GT-C's in Gold (I have a chrome silver Z) 17x9.0 +20 offset, was wondering peoples opinions on 17" rims. BTW, I would be losing a set of track rims in the deal.

I was also planning on getting them powdercoated to Volks diamond black.

So what do you think? All of the rims I see are 18's and 19's, never 17's so it got me thinking :-/ I've seen it on the car, doesn't look bad just has a bigger gap i gotta get some lowering springs...

Too small? Like will my car explode or somethin? haha i mean.. it has its ups and downs. Less rotational mass being the best reason, 17" rims lookin like midget rims is a big downside. If i lowered it though and it looked good, who will criticize? :-/
