Default Installed new rims but car vibrates at 70 mph

For some reason when I hit 70 mph the wheel vibration is noticable. I installed 19x8.5 +27 and 19x9.5 +24 with 245/35/19 & 275/45/19 Volk GTC's with Toyo T1 SS tires. I did install the hubcentric rings even though they were a b!tch to get on. The rust was a little surprising behing the track wheels but I soaked them in a little motor oil to help them slide the way back on the rotor. They wheels sit flush against the rotor, I used a air compressor with a impact wrench so those babies are on there, I left the tork on 2 so I didn't over tighten them but they are tight. What can this be guys? It not really noticable at 65 but something about 70 and up. Any thought?

did you balance them. A crappy balance job will do it, or...pray to god....a bent wheel.

I second the balancing problem...and make sure you don't knock the weights off when you clean them

They were supposed to come already balanced but I haven't had the car aligned yet either. Bryan told me to drive it a few days first. I will have that checked out when I the car aligned b/c it does pull right. Lord I hope it's not a bent wheel but I swear that would be my luck.

I had the same problem with my mounted and balanced wheels. Racing Hart 19s. Have them balanced on a Hunter balancer. They are the only wheel balancer that puts a load on the wheel during the balancing process. Mine are as smooth as silk now.

Was your vibration a solid vibration or a rythmic vibration? Just curious because after my wheel install, at 65+mph my car will vibrate for about 2 seconds then be smooth for about 2 seconds, then vibrate, then smooth.....

I can't decide if it's rythmic or not, at first i thought it was 2 seconds on 1 second off but I look at objects in the car they constantly vibrate. What was your solution?

Get them balanced. Do a quick check and see if any paper weights are attached to the inside of the rim. If there aren't any on any of the wheels, you can be sure they did not balance them.

Who did you get the wheels from????

I bought wheels from a particular somebody(A shop/brand new) and came BADLY balanced. I think they pretty much guessed it when it came to putting the wheel weights on. I went to Discount tire and of course. The ****ers didn't balance them right. All 4 of them were off. I think a particular distributor/company mounts and "balances" the tires on these Volk wheels and they're doing a really crappy job.

Please don't do that again. NEVER and I repeat NEVER use an impact gun to put on lug nuts unless you work at a shop with torque sticks. Even on 2 you probably torqued them over the recommended 80 ft/lbs. It is worth taking the time and doing them by hand.

I got the wheels from 350Zonline.com. I asked them and they said to get the car aligned cause he had a similar problem. I did lower the car a hair with the tein springs, so I am going to take the RH rims off and put the stock ones back on and get the car aligned. But if the vibration goes away with the tires off, I'm not sure what next.

I concur. Probably Balancing as they are new wheels. But I had the same problem 3 times at 70+ and it was bent rims twice and old tires once.

Don't ask me.

I know some or most Central Florida shops work under the same distributor. I don't know who mounts/balances the wheels but it seems whoever is mounting/balancing these wheels is Florida is doing a crappy job balancing like i said. I had the same problem you did.

Hunter GSP9700 Road Force Balancer.

Go to www.hunter.com and you can do a search for shops that have a Hunter in your area.

I think I'm blind. Where does it show what shops use this balancer?
