Is it ok to have different tires for front and rear?

Default Is it ok to have different tires for front and rear?

asking for a friend, his s2000 rear tires have weared out, but looking to get some tires that wear out less fast. currenty has avs100 for front and rear, so is it okie for diff tire for FR car??

It should be no problem as long as the diameter of the tire are close or same as the original tires.

If you were to aske me "if its ok to have different tires for right & left, I woud say

NO

No problem at all, only thing that might get affected slightly is the over/understeer balance and acceleration grip, but as long as the dimensions are the same and its not a race tire vs road tires the difference should be marginal.
