18x8.5 All around?
Hi all,
I'd like to get the Axis Hiro's in the 18" variety. They only seem to make it in a 8.5" width. Is there any problem with running that size on front and rear? I would still want to stagger the tire size a bit from front to rear. What sizes would be ideal for that setup? 245 fr, 265 rear?

Now I'm thinking 235/40 ZR18 91W Nitto 555's up front, and 245/40 ZR18 93W Nitto's out back. I guess a 265 or larger tire needs a 9" rim width for it to be safe.
Thoughts?

Robdeep, there should be no problem running that size (18x8.5) front and rear, or even 18x9 front and rear (like me), so long as the offset is correct and you don't have brake clearance issues. I have run as big as a 275 tire on an 8" rim with no issues (not that I am recommending that). If your tire choice is 265/35, I would say you need the 9" rim. 255/40 would be better if the rim is only 8.5"
