Thumbs down My review of Discount Tire Direct.

Not very happy on how Chris handle the situation. Chris called me up regarding price match and sound all good such as "i'll take care for you and we will refund back the different and i WILL CALL YOU RIGHT BACK", that was like 2 weeks ago. He ignored all the email/PM and later in his last PM, he said he turn it over for CS to take care. FYI, i haven't heard anything back or get my money back.

As for pricing, everyone pay the same (here or some stranger look up in the web). I don't see why we have to support you. I would recommend tirerack.com over Discount Tire Direct because their price is lower (in most of the case)

Others might have good transaction with Discount Tire Direct but not in my case. I hope you see this as a positive feedback for better service in the future. As for my part, i'll call up my CC to dispute the different since you fail to do what you promised me. Peace out.

damn its not nice to call out people like that... but i guess in your situation, you are looking out for the rest of us... i really dont understand how discount tire is a sponsor but we arent really gettin any better deals than what the general public gets anyway... i bought my tires from tirerack.com due to that fact, and the price match thing for discounttire seems to be a little shady as well. good luck with the dispute bubble.

Alex,

I had no clue that you didn't recieve a phonecall. I apologize for that. Give me a call when you have a second.

As far as pricing goes, what reason is there do give anyone in particular a discount? Call the TR and ask for a forum discount, they'll have the same answer as we do.

As for price matching, I have absolutely NO problems matching a price at the time of order. It's funny how this wasn't an issue when you needed the tires and you were just looking for a discount. I was going to do a retroactive price match for you for the sake of being a nice guy and all that was recieved from you was ill will because you didn't get a discount in the first place.

Like I said, give me a call. 1-888-459-4080 x418

Hello Chris, I left a PM for you a couple of months ago regarding wrong tires that were sent to me. I was wondering if you were ever able to look into my inquiry. Please follow up with me via PM. Thank you.

Chris,

1. TR is not a sponsor for this forum.
2. This is about PM. Not about discount. We talked about it 2 weeks ago. You TOLD me that you will call me back that day because you need to inform your manager. NOTHING back from you or the CS.
3. When email and PM, you just ignored. The last PM i have, you just brush off the issue by saying nothing you can do since it is CS issue now. Why so hard for you just to do a little follow up on it? after all, you are the one that promised to take care the issue for me. As i told you on the phone before, i don't mind if you can't PM. If you can't do, just say so and nothing happen. I just hate when people don't follow up on their work. What the point of calling you again now? i bet you don't even remember what you told me before.

As i said in my thread, take this a feedback and do it better in the future. Also, tell us a reason why we have to support you as a vendor here?

I remember exactly what I told you and the difference in price before adding the 2 day shipping on.

Again, I apologize for not following up, I felt that the issue was handled. I was wrong.

I was bringing up the original PM's as well.

Sorry to rag on Chris, but I tried to buy tires and wheels from him a few months ago, never could actually get an answer about what I had asked. I got answers to just about every other issue that I didn't need or ask for. so, after a few chances with Chris, I took my business to tirerack.com and received fast, accurate answers to my questions. Ordered my tires and wheels. mounted on the rims and delivered in 3 days (I didn't pay for upgraded delivery, just basic). Now that kind of service, earns my business, other kinds of service, earn my scorn.

I had a good experience ordering from Chris@DTD earlier this year. He replied to my PMs and phone calls regarding my wheel and tire package very promptly. Thanks Chris!

I think you guys need to settle down. Its not like anyone is scamming you. Discount Tire Direct is a huge company that has been in business for a long time. This isn't your little online import shop. You can't expect the same kind of one on one service when ordering from a large company. Do you call up Amazon and expect to be getting calls back from the same person in your timeframe? Unfortunetly, Tire Rack is no better than Discount Tire Direct. Chris is here to answer questions and to try and bring business in to his company. He pays MY350Z to do that. That doesn't mean he is our slave ment to give us the best deals evAr at any hour of the night. Just trying to give you guys some perspective. I personally will continue ordering from both places as I treat them just like Amazon.com. I KNOW 100% that I will get my stuff.

I had a positive experience with them last year. Even with a return/replacement. I didn't get some promised call backs, but they did ultimately take care of me in a reasonable time frame. Not the same situation or anything, just sayin...

Well, first, I'm NOT saying any negative thing of Discount Tires.
I just want to share my experience with TireRack.

When I purchased tires from TireRack, I logged in and I see my customer # on the screen and they also provide my sale rep's extension so I don't had no hassel to cancel or change my order.

I just called the # and ext. and sales rep. answered phone right away and it was very easy to deal with and I was amazed by service from them. Although they are huge company, they actually assign sales rep to each customer so we don't have to go through pressing 1, 3, 4, 6, 2, 1, 3 on the phone to reach a right person.

That was amazingly (and unexpected) service I had from them.
After that, I just keep ordering from them. They really think about customers and provide right service and ship out from most close warehouse (whatever order I made, ground shipping delivers next day.- I'm in VA).

Chris,

since you remember our conversation, would you please just proceed with it instead of making me give you a call again? Thanks

Alex,

I would prefer you to give me a call so we can go over some other things.

Thank you,

Chris
