Default Tires

What tires come stock with the Enthusiast versus the Performance models? Do you guys like these tires or do you all plan to upgrade over short time? I am wavering between the Enth. model and Perf. model cuz I think I want 18" aftermarket rims over time and I figure the Perf. tires will be OK in the New England area to switch to aftermarket rims. Versus having to buy rims AND tires if I get the 17" on the Enth. Any opinions/comments?

All tires tires that come on the Z are Bridgestone Potenza RE040s, both 17 and 18"s. The Enthus has 225/50/17f and 235/50/17r. The Performance model has 18s in 225/45/18f and 245/45/18r.

These tires are horribly dangerous in the snow, they are "summer" tires only and owners are buying replacements right and left. I am changing to all season tires as soon as feasible and many people aready have changed them or stored their Z for the winter. I wouldn't keep them for anything but warm weather driving, period.

That would be pretty much my plan. I was just wondering if the Potenzas are a quality tire- I really only have experience with Goodyear RSAs. I figure I would get 18" rims and use the potenzas then get winter rims w/ Blizzaks. How's that sound?

That would be OK if you don't drive the Potenzas on ANY snow or ice. If you have snow on the ground now, I would start on the Blizzaks. Also, if you want more on tires, we had a guy from the Tire Rack online to answer some of our questions. Just go to page 3 of the forum and check the recent material for his comments to our questions.
