Tire Question.....
I need to get some new tires soon and I was wondering about a couple of things.....
The Toyos I currently have are balding only on one side on all 4 tires, so the outer portions of all the tires are decent...well at least on the fronts. Please keep in mind that I don't really do any tracking and the only racing I do is if I encounter someone on an open dry road.
Having said all that I was thinking I could just put on some higher wear tires on the front(so I wouldn't have to keep changing them as often) and get some real sticky ones on the rear. This way I wouldn't be changing the fronts out all the time. Since its a rear wheel drive car...I'd imagine traction in the rear would be the most important for the best acceleration.....
Would going this route be detrimental to overall performance even if I was racing in a straight line at a drag strip? I'm basically asking what are the advantages and disadvantages to going this route? Would I be sacrificing handling?
