Default Alignment with 19" Volks??

Have any of you gotten an alignment with your 19" volks? I took my Z to an alignment place and they told me they couldnt do it cuz the rims are staggered (19x8.5 and 19x9.5). Is this true or BS? I installed some tein s-techs and 19"s volks and my tires are kind of butterflying, but the reason I want an alignment is cuz when my car reaches about 75mph, it starts to shake a little bit and its and ugly feeling.

Any reputable shop should know there a lot of cars with staggered setups. They probably turned you away because they are affraid of scratching the wheels.

If you have any Firestone shops near you, most of them should do it, for $150.00 you could get unlimited alignment for the life of the vehicle.

tnsxsear,

Make sure you have the hubcentric for the wheels.

That can cause rattles.

Well when I got them it only came with two, and I put those on the rear though one of them was broken in half. Is their suppost to be one for each wheel? Has anyone here actually had an alignment with the volks, were they scratched in any way? I appreciate all the replys.

Do you know if you buy the lifetime alignment at 1 store, and get the alignment done at another store? I plan to move soon, so I was wondering....

1 day I crub the hell out of my rims and busted my front drivers hub and driver side rear link. I had my insurance cover everything due to the fact I was dodging a tire that blown out on a truck right in front of me. It was a scary site and I was in the fast lane trap from going right. So I ended up going towards the median on the left which was a wall. Lucky for me it had a crub near the bottom and I didn't suffer no body damage. All rim, front hub and rear link. So, I ended up ordering 2 new rims thur my insurance, front hub and rear link of course paying my 500 det. I then took my car to nissan and had all 4 of my tires and rear road force balance. They I had my alignment done by them. You talking about a really smooth ride and I also have a staggered setup. So I recommend doing nissan road force balance and alignment.

I got an alignment with 19" volks with no problems. However, the mechanix was extra careful with it though cause I had specifically asked him if can he guarantee me no scratches. However, the wheels can be easily scratch from an alignment if not careful. If you still have your stock wheels, put those on and get the alignment. From my understanding, aligment is not affected by the wheels.
