Default Another Tire Question

I need to buy tires for the Z finally. I have the stock 17" wheels - 225/50 R17 and 235/50 R17. I want a good set of sticky tires for light drag racing and the occassional mountain/twisty roads!! A friend of mine is puting BF Goodrich g-force T/A KDs on his Z. He has 18s. I have looked on Tire Racks website and they do not make the stock 17 size.

Could I use 225/45 R17s on the front and 245/45 R17s on the rear and this work out right? Will the speedo read correctly? The treadwear rating on these tires is 200. How much will this lower my car by going with a lower profile. I ask because I have already dropped the Z and I have the Veilside V3body kit and I cant really afford to go any lower!

What are some other options out there that are great handling tires?

TIA,
Zach

While I am thinking about it, what is the widest tire I can run on the stock 17s?

Give serious consideration to Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. As far as what size 17 inch tires see http://www.350zmotoring.com/modules....ex&name=Wheels.

KDW all the way!!! I love mine. My first set was on my Evo and would beat the hell out of them. I recommend the KDW over the KD cause you'll have awesome wet traction with them oppose from the KD.

245/45 and 255/45 is closer to stock diameters
