Default Enkei? Are they that good?

I haven't really seen anyone here have some Enkei rims and was wondering if no one likes them, or they just dont look good on Zs.

Enkei's are for people who cares about performance. Most people here care only about looks.

I'm very happy with mine. They are very light and strong. I think they are not so popular with the Z crowd because they don't offer a lot of deep dish style wheels, which are so popular now.

I agree and disagree - for a while and still i guess a lot of enkei wheels are designed for street cruisers with wack designs. The RP01-RP03 and RPF1's were a small part of their line and a lot of their performance line you had to get from Japan cuz Enkei USA pushed the crap street wheels.

LOL I think the McLaren F1 wheel is a magnesium wheel - if only Enkei offered the magnesium in 18 or 19" for our cars.

I had no idea about "crap" wheels part... All I wanted to say is to get into F1 it has to be VERY serious company...

Sure F1 wheels are magnesium. I once actually had a chanse to hold an f1 wheel (in Jaguar garages during USGP 2003) and it was incredibly light with tire mounted. May be 20 or 25 pounds... amazing.

RPF-1's are just visually similar to McLaren F1s of course.

Enkei is a huge company with most of their business coming from the OEMs. The aftermarket line is a tiny percentage of their business. They also make wheels for a lot of other aftermarket companies including the Blitz Technospeed Z-1 (the Enkei name is imprinted in the back of the spokes).

I agree that they are a serious company and manufacturer.

Enkei is great. There's a reason Mitsu put them on the EVO.

I have the 18" G-Spec GTV's and I love 'em:

Enkei wheels are nice. Their USDM line is mostly made in sizes and widths for cars like Civics, etc... Their small line of racing wheels are VERY nice...just ask anybody that tracks their car. If I had the funds, I'd love to have a set of RPF1's...

enkei makes great rims from a performance standpoint, but the looks arent that great. If you are looking for cheap lightweight wheels go with them.
