Default I got some very light 18" wheels, Advan TCII

I saw these on the HKS R34, and fell in love, so I bought a set. I didnt research them or anything, so I was very pleasantly surprised when they arrived.

The fronts are 18 x 9.5 and weigh 17 lb, the rears are 18 x 10.5 and are 18.5lb! They dont look as good on the car as my Volk SF Challenges... but they are so much lighter I bet I will notice an amazing difference in feel. Sweet.

Sorry for my crummy cell phone pictures. Notice what I am showing in the last two pictures. The spokes are hollow! This most account for part of the light weight... and then they are 1-piece so that saves a lb or two of stainless bolts.

So far my only complaint so far is that there are no available center caps! wtf!! I will have to paint the exposed section of my hub black so it doesnt look nasty I guess, or I will have to make something on the lathe and anodize it or something.

Oh and then it comes with these little rubber plugs to block the holes that go into the spokes.

They are racing wheels... no bling here. No phat lip y0, but they clear my 14" stoptechs by a mile on the drum and the spokes by far.

If you are interested in a set, I know a guy. They are not cheap, they are more expensive then volks.

VERY nice Phunk! Love the weights & the no-bling look. Sizes are also what I'm lookng for. Now, if I had the $, I'd be tempted to be a copy-cat!

Thumbs up

Advan TCII is a no BS wheel for serious performance. The manufacturing process is impressive. After seeing Volk post after Volk post after Volt post, this is refreshing. Impressed.

Phunk. those are serious looking. And the weight numbers are outta sight! You are gonna' need some serious throttle control with the power your'e pushing!!!!

I like your idea about making center caps for them.....I was about to look into them until you said they are more expensive than Volks....

Very Nice choose in rims. Welcome to the Gold Advan family Post pics of the car with the riams

Let me know what you come up with on the center. I need to paint mine to make them less appearent. The RG's are 18.8 and 19.5 (F & R). Not as light but light non the less.

I think most retailers will want about 3 grand a set... which I believe is more then my SF Challenges but I am not sure... both my volks and these were given to me at a special discount.

Bruce, I dont mind if someone had the same wheels around here, honestly.

Jones, I will post here again after doing something wiht the center cap.. I have some ideas and I was thinking about it while laying in bed last night... I dont think its going to be very difficult... I can machine a piece that replaces the plastic hub centric ring.

I was thinking the same thing at first, but it wont be a big deal. If there is ever a time I think I may have water in there, I can always blast the air gun in there to get it out.

My scale here at home is reading 1.5lb heavier then the scale at work that I weighed them on when they came in. Hmmm how do I know which one is right? My scale here at home reads 20.0lb rear and 18.5lb front. That is still light but not quite as impressive. Now I really want to know.

Wheels such as the Axis Reverb also use the hollow spoke design. If you get water inside the spokes, i.e. washing, you just move the car 12 inches and the water will drain out.

Probably because the wheels are for racing, and the center cap serves no purpose. Just another potential part to misplace at autocross.

You don't need no stinking centercaps! You're required to remove them for track events. In any case, they would add weight! But, knowing you, you could make them out of helium!

These are a knock off of the TC 2's. Centrifugal force keeps the hollow spokes empty. Nice choice Phunk. I've been looking for these in the silver, same sizes and GTR spoke. have'nt been abe to get a good price though. PM me if you can hook it up. Oh yeah, PIX ON THE CAR PLEASE!

Those look great. I like them better than your Volks.
