Default autocross question.

Im thinking about entering my first solo II event on march 5th. my question is how bad is this going to wear on my tires? i just got some falkens not too long ago and as you guys know they aint cheap. If its going to reduce the life of the tires by 50% or more, maybe its not in my budget to be an autoxer. also, the rules say that your exhaust has to be 93dbs or under, i gotta think mine is over that. how strict are they on those rules?

If you're using street tires don't worry about it. When I autox'd with street tires I used the tires for daily driving and monthly solo II - the tires lasted me over a year.

For the 350Z i have yet to hear a Z with any kind of muffler that would exceed the 93dB limit at a solo II event. I believe the sound is measure from a distance of 100ft. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

i burned through my falken st115 in 4 months, had between 4 and 6 autox on them, plus a few burnouts. It was getting to pricey for me.....

your fine, you will not even notice the wear on street tires. Might scrub a little sidewall off at worst. I run about 9 events a year.

Once you get into you will want to buy R compounds for your autoX days. You wouldnt believe how much of a difference they make.
