Default how will new wheels and tires affect the tire pressure sensor?

just curious, don't kno much about the tire pressure sensor. never had a car with it. my question is, if I buy wheels and tires online and I put them on the car will the tire pressure sensor still work? do I have to do anything to keep this sensor working?

The sensors are built into the valves on your wheels. You would need to get wheels compatible with it and swap them.

Otherwise, the system will not find the sensors and turn the warning light on all the time. Not a problem.

No warning light will come on even if you don't put the sensors in your new wheels. At least mine didn't.....

If the sending units do not fit properly on the new wheels, I believe that there is a alternative mounting method. Banding the sending units to the inside of the wheels.

but if you get a larger rim setup with lower profile tires, you risk breaking 'em if you hit the right bumps. and they have to be rigged to the cylinder of the rim (not sure who'd do that for ya). personally, I'm getting 19s here shortly and not gonna worry about the TPS
