Default Rear Tires...

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have a 05 350z with 10,872 miles. Both of my rear tires are worn down alot...the tread is almost gone...maybe another couple of thousand at the most.

However, my front tires are fine. I don't abuse my car, I don’t peel out, or anything like that…just drive it normally. So what's the deal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

WTF I have too. Mine is an 03 with the back tires worn down, but only on the inside the outside still has a bunch of tread. This is the same on the front. 19,600 mi.

??? 13K on mine still look new. Get an alignment. From the factory mine were out quite a bit. I think on the ship they cranked them down so they wouldn't move around and the waves and bumping around causes some suspensions to go out. Had a pro race shop align all four wheels and tires look new all the way around. I was actually hoping since the were only 150 treadwear that I would have to replace them with some really nice Pilots or Goodyears by now. I just can justify the cost until they wear down some more. Maybe @ 25K or so.

rears drive the car, rears will always wear out first. im sure you've had some chirps from driving it hard, thats all it takes.

Depends on the wear. My alignment at the rear has always been spot on, and I wear mine out about 2x as fast as the fronts. They wear evenly across the tread, so it isn't an alignment issue IMO.

Also, the stock RE040s just don't last long.

You can be crabbing the car and the tires have even looking wear. I'd still get it checked out. You'll scuff off a lot of mileage and tread. That's what my Z was doing. Now I can manage 30mpg on a straight stretch of highway without cruise control. IMO if you are driving normally, that's not racing around; you should get at least 20K miles on these tires. I think I am looking at 25K plus before I even hit the wear bars now, and I am known for timing myself on my back country road.
