Default How will a smaller diameter tire affect handling, VDC/ABS? --

I'm interested in the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires for my Performance model Z. Of course, they're not available in the stock sizes. Will 235/40R18 (front) 255/40R18 (rear) work safely? They're each about 2.5% smaller in circumference than the stock sizes.
Any thoughts? How will this effect ABS, TCS/VDC, and handling?

I saw that post, but I'm not sure I believe the answer you got. I read somewhere on this forum that someone had problems with the VDC when they used a larger diameter tire --- it engaged sluggishly and therefore wasn't of much use. Any other thoughts?

I dont think the problem was so much tire size change, that affect gearing, but his problem was difference in tire size from front to back.

with a smaller tire you will notice quicker acceleration, but lower speeds at similair RPMs. one problem might be not hitting 60mph in second, not that it should really matter to you, but car companies always make cars hit 60 to save the gear shift and thus lower their mag times. in reality, the lower speed is probably better for your performance overall, but would be better changed in gearing since 3-6th gear is all ok, its just that second is a bit taller than it needs to be.
