Default Mickey Thompson Drag Radials mounted on RX7 16 inch wheels....Pictures......

If you run at the track and want a lightweight wheel that will fit, I would recommend buying a set of used FD wheels, as they are very light, and fit our bolt pattern.

They do sit a little further in, but not too much, and a set of MT DR's, 255/50/16's fit great, with a LOT of clearance. These tires are said to hook almost as well as the ET Drags do, but since they are radial, you don't have to worry about the squirm you get running with a true slick, and radials up front.

My results were 1.8's, on what I was told was a slippery track. Everyone else was spinning, including some of the guys running Nittos. I felt like I could have gotten a 1.7 with a little more practice, even with the so so conditions. Good track prep should make 1.7's easy to attain. BTW, these tires are 9 inches wide, and I had about an inch of clearance from the strut!

Here are the pics.
