Default 245.275/35/19 vs 255.285/35/19

Wanted to get everyone's opinion on what they would recommend for a

19x9.5 19x10.5 +17 +18 offset rim.

In particular I am going to order Toyo T1Rs.

Thanks

the 245 are too narrow for the 19x9.5 IMO. I run the 255/35/19 and 285/35/19.

285's generally require you to roll the rear fenders. I'm not sure with that offset, though.

with 285 in the rear and with that offset you will definitely need to roll the fenders.

My setup is in the sig. Will change to 265 front and 285 rear soon.

Both the 245 & 275 are going to be a bit stretched. I had a 275/30/19 on a 10.5" wide wheel, I know it's got a shorter side wall but, it was really stretched. 245/35/19 was on a 9" wheel and it was stretched also. The lips had no rubber protecting them.

Just mounted 255/35/19 & 295/30/19 Conti's on the same rims and they fit perfect. The lips have plenty of rubber protecting them now. Waiting for an alignment before installing them on the Z so sorry I haven't checked the clearance yet but the old tires had plenty, +29 offsets I believe all the way around. I could post pics later of the tires mounted though if interested.

As for Fender Rolling. Have you seen this handy little number?

Yes, I can vouch for the tool. I bought it to roll the fenders on my previous car and have been using it to roll fenders for other people. Let's just say the tool has paid for itself a few times over.

Are you using a heat gun for the paint to prevent cracking?

With those offsets (Im assuming they are GT-S) its very agressive and the 285/35 in the rear will rub for sure....the 255/35, you might be able to get away with...but of course this all dependson your ride height too. The 245/35 in the front is a bit stretched, but its not that bad..it comes down to personal preference.

Im going against the grain and went with a 255.275/35 combo on my LE28Ns with a +22 front and rear. I have no problems what so ever, and when I switch to the GT-S, I will be reusing the same tire set up.

Heres a pic for reference....

285 with 10.5 will give you better look. 275 looks stretch. If you don't intent to drop your car then you don't have to worry about rubbing issue.

Very true....also depends on the tire brand...some 275s are wider than others and on the flip side some are narrower...

heres a rear angle of a 275 T1R on a 10.5

I know some brands are "skinner" than the Toyo and some are "wider" too

Gary King: Post some pics when you get a chance

Will Pwr: Is your Z dropped at all? Fenders rolled/shaved? Iam purchasing the Volk GT-S also.

Selski: For some reason I can't see any of the pics you post

What do you you all think of a 255/275 setup?

How does a 255/285 setup look at stock ride height?

I am looking into a slight drop of around 1" at the most due to driveablity/scraping issues with my driveway.

Personally I am leaning towards a 255/285 setup and getting my fenders rolled or shaved. How much is that typically?

Thanks for the replies, trying to gather as much info as I can

I'm on 19x10.5" in the rear, +17 offset

Slammed

295/30/19, 255/35/19 in the front.

Fenders completely rolled.

Go wide or go home.
