Default My New Tire Cupping Theory.........

I have a new theory to pass along on tire cupping.
I have been researching tire sizes in relation to rim sizes as prescribed by the manufacture. For instance Nissan’s Bridgestone RE040's in 225/50/17 tire are on the 7 ½" front rims. This particular tire is suited for rim sizes between 6" and 8", this averages to a 7" rim as optimal. Rims that are to wide for tires will spread the tire, deforming it into a shape that will wear the outer edges. When you add camber the abnormal wear will be on the inside. I wonder if a 225/45/17 tire would fit the rim “better”.
Example:
Khumo ECSTA MX 225/45/17 has an optimal rim size of 7 ¾” (7” – 8 ½”).
This is ¼” larger than my front 7 ½” rim. A tire that is too large for the rim will wear in the center. I wonder if being ½” too small has lead to excessive wear and if being ¼” bigger than optimal would counter this?

Interesting Theory.. It sounds pretty well thought out at first glance, but I do no know enough about the physics between the wheels, tires and road to make an accurate appraisal of your thoughts..
