ok, so i have a 2003 6mt, right now only mods i have is a pop charger. I'm looking into going into F/I in the future, but it could be some months until i do this. My stock tires are preety worn out, and i want to replace them. I want to keep my car preety stock looking, going for the sleeper look. Upgraded wheels wont work for what i want to do. But if i can't do what i'm intending on doign with my stock wheels i might have to get some rims. Is there a way to get some good tires and keep my stock rims? I went to a tire kingdom and they quoted me $1000 flat for 4 new stock tires, mounted + balanced. Is that too expensive? If its about that much I can invest some more money and get a good set of 17"-18" rims with a good set of tires. I need help though, what do you guys suggest?

 

Have you read any of the tire recommendations here? Either from Consumer Reports testing or Road & Driver recommendations?
