Default Stock wheels, Stock tires.. whats the truth!

what up everyone, A couple of weeks ago I replaced all 4 tires on my z because I got a flat out in the boondocks and the nearest place was a Mavis tire center. I dropped of my z at the dealership this morning (at 6:30am), and the service manager informed me that I had the same size tire all the way around 235-50-17, and that this is not good for the z. I should be running a smaller tire in the front. Is this entirely true? Should I go back to mavis and try to swap for the 225-50-17 inch, or does it not make a difference? After watching this clip, Japanes drivers stated that same size tires all the way around actually are better. Does anyone know the truth? Holla at me

The car was designed to have smaller tires at the front, so you should keep it that way or it will upset the balance!

The Z is designed to have a "stagger" between the front and rear, this is accomplished by putting smaller diameter tires in the front than the rear.

You might be able to get by with the same size if you have a Base model Z as it won't have TCS or VDC. The tire stagger is critical to the TCS/VDC found on the upper trim levels. Since you didn't mention that you were having problems with the slip indicator or having VDC kick in, then I assume you don't have them on your car.

While the car comes with staggered tires, in some cases it is possible to use the same size all around without problems. Again, without knowing the exact details of your Z, I can't.

BTW - Mavis Tire center sounds like some place I would want to avoid. If they are smart enough to check the tire sizes on your car before putting new ones on that match, I wouldn't trust them to do much of anything else with my Z.

Different size wheel and tire combinations will alter handling. Whether you consider certain combinations better or worse is subjective.

Your Enthusiast has TCS. I recommend that the rear tires be 10mm taller than the front.
