Default Tire Mounting Advice

I just received my Gram Lights 57S and Sumitomo rubber and wanted to know if any of you knew of a good palce in South Florida to get them mounted. Even if you aren't in Florida, where do you look? Where do the people with big bucks get their stuff mounted (I don't want scratches)? Should I goto a porsche dealership or something? :P

Members who use this forum are from are over the world: few have any knowledge about Florida. Recommendations about regional shops belong in the regional forum.

Go to a respected import shop in your area that does mounting. Or, since you lucky folks in the mainland usa have this chain callled Discount Tire all over the freakin' place, take them there. They should have the latest mounting machinery there, plus you know they do a ton of mounting and balancing with various types of wheels. Just point out to whoever does the mounting, and I would take pictures if your'e uncomfortable like I was when I got mine mounted, that there are no nicks, scratches, and defects whatsoever.

For me, I just checked TireRack where their recommended tire mounting shops were, since we don't have Discount Tire here, and an import shop that I frequented way back when I had my 240sx (when they were'nt the boy racer/drifter cars they are now) popped up on the querry.

I found the shop I used via a reference from another Z club member. The shop has some god-almighty Hunter "touchless" mounting machine. I watched them mount mine up and sure enough, it is unlike the old machines that used to rely on a prybar to force the tire over the lip.

I'd suggest trying local Z club chapters or other car clubs.

ask the shop if they can handle putting tires on 22'' spinners. if they say yes, then you are good to go lol.

as davez noted, just look for a shop with a "touchless" mounting machine.

Click the link above and put your zip code in the box that asks for it. Do not select any of the "brakes, suspension" and whatnot. Leave those blank. Some shops will pop up. Select "more info" to see what type of mounting equipment they use.
