I just purchased a black 2006 gt... It has the track v2 wheels, but one is bent, so I decided to purchase the 370z rays rims. Now I am beginning to reconsider this decision and spend a little more for a set of forgestar f14 in piano black for the whole black on black look. For about $1500 I'm wondering what my best option is? Ideally, I would love to have my dream wheels, the Volk Racing GT-S Phantom Edition, but I suppose I can dream on. I am merely looking for advice and maybe pictures of your cars to make a better decision.
I have Sportline TE.6 wheels. Great fitment. Excellent price. And rotary forged so are much better quality then most other replicas.
Talk to Frank over at modbargains tell him I sent you he's giving a pretty good deal on them right now.

Meh. I tried black-on-black but it wasn't my thing. I personally prefer light gunmetal, hyperblack or bright silver on black. Something about black-on-black looks way to heavy to me.
I'll ***** an old pic anyway:

OP< piano black F14s would look great, just make sure to OPT for the pinstriping option tho.
If you have Brembos, have them pinstripe in bronze/gold to match them, or match your Kics lugs etc. Dark red, blue etc.
Ive seen it often, looks great, subtle, breaks up the colors just enough.
Just dont go painting emblems to match d@mnit.
haha.
here's a google search on just that stripe and wheel..

Its all about taste.
YOUR taste.
Super expensive/light wheels are great in black.
Most people, other than you will know what they are.
FROM A DISTANCE,A BLACK WHEEL IS A BLACK WHEEL.
IMO,I agree...a little contrast is better than black.
Try dark gunmetal.
If you are set on black, you gotta lower that GT.

^^ i gotta agree w J.. if it were up to me ( which is knd of was.. i have F14s in bronze) to do it all over, id have done them in the gunmetal.. hindsights a b#tch tho.
I thought bronze would be cool, but w my flat black car, a shiny wheel just looks stupid.
Gunmetal is the prettiest color of the wheel itself, the best metalic, its a serious looking wheel.. but the dark metal shows off the spokes the best IMHO.. my bronze burst look piano black in anything but direct sunlight, and then they turn gold/rootbeer.
Meh. Would be sick on a white car.
I personally will be rattle canning them Rustoleum Antique bronze w a satin clear coat or plastidipping them flat black . or both.. who the f knows w this damn car haha.

Well, I am seriously considering after I discovered them, the VMR V710's in 'Sunken Treasure' powder coat that I found here on the forums. I have to say, it is one of the most unique colors I've seen on a wheel. However, I've read that these wheels are heavier than the Forgestars and possibly not as high quality. Also, after doing some calculations with an offset calculator it seems like no matter which ones I would buy I would need wheel spacers. (I haven't verified this with anyone who acutally knows what their talking about but used an online offset calculator) 19x11 25mm and 19x9.5 22mm I believe are the offsets of VMR wheels.

Anybody know anything about VMR?
If I purchase the Piano Black (which has a flake in the paint) I would indeed buy gold or red lug nuts to match the brembos and possibly a gold tow hook in the front and any other accents I can throw in without over doing it.
I am repainting the entire car, so I'm also going to tell them to put a little extra metallic in the black to give it more of a candy look in the sun.
The VMRs look pretty sick though in that color and are extremely similar in style to the Forgestars I am looking at.
I haven't been able to find a weight comparison between the two brands. Also how exactly does the weight of the wheel effect the ride? I could think of it possibly effecting gas mileage and integrity of the wheel itself.

Here's how our 19x9.5 +22mm/19x11 +25mm fits on a Z with 245/275 tires.

Without much effort they are fairly flush. This car is lowered though so the way they fit on this one may vary slightly compared to yours. If you want something more aggressive you could always measure and buy the appropriate spacers, but I don't think you'll need them if you are not modding your fenders at all.
While we're fairly new to the 5x114.3 world, we've been around for a while in the BMW, Audi, and Volkswagen market. For everyday driving they should be fine. We even have a Z32 here at work that uses our wheels for road use as well as for the track and he doesn't have any complaints.

For the cleanest look in order to fit inside of stock dimension fenders, what size tires would you recommend? 245/275 as shown in the pictures? The front tire in the images shown is not as stretched as the one in the rear and looks a little less aggressive. As I said, I am not very wheel/tire savvy and need some advice for the best possible look.
