Question BFG KDW tires in the rear, Toyo T1R in the front...anyone have this setup?

I currently have Toyo T1R tires on my G35 (running the common sizes of 275/35/19 and 245/35/19). The rears are about done, and I've been thinking about switching to the BF-Goodrich KDW. The fronts are fine, I plan to switch to the KDWs once the front tires wear out.

I've been reading on the forums about mixing tire brands. I've gathered that there are mixed experiences, some say they've had no problems, some say the VDC light would go off more often. I've also been told that as long they are the same type of tire (both are summer high performance tires) then it should be fine.

Anyone here run KDWs in the rear and T1Rs in the front? Please share your experience.

I'd stick to having the same brand at all 4 corners. Maybe it won't make a difference, maybe it will.

Maybe I'm just naive. It's not like your car will blow up.

It shouldn't set off VDC unless you change the overall diameter stagger too much.

i have the complete opposite, BFG in the front, Toyo's in the rear. The rears worn out before the front and i had a deal on the Toyos rear that i couldnt pass up on so thats why i have the setup i have. What i have noticed performance wise is the toyos dont grip the road as well and also they SQUEAK so much more. In terms of VDC light going off, i drive the z with it off all the time unless its raining, snowing etc... so i couldn't answer that part of your post.

What is the probability that someone will have the exact set-up that you described? And read this thread? 1 in 100? 1 in 1,000?

I've run KDW2's in the front with S-03's in the back. Also KDW2's in the front with RE050A runflats in the rear. Also Nitto 555's in the front with T1R's in the rear. Always gone with 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. Point is, you'll be fine as long as you get the right sizes for your wheels while staying in spec.

you shouldn't have any problems since the tires sizes are correct. I do not run the same brands but I have Nittos in the front and S-O3's in the Rear 245/35/19 and 275/35/19
