Rims For The Z
I have a 03 350z and i was wondering, should i put 18's on it or 19's on it?
I really want the 19's but i dont know how much ride/comfort i'm gunna have to sacrifice. I have the stock 17's on right now and im stuck on what to do.
If anybody's got any advice or experience could u please help me out.
-Thanks

How much mileage?
Stock Suspension?
The sidewall of a tire for a 19-inch wheel will be shorter than that for a 18-inch wheel. For road hazards such a pot holes, the shorter sidewall offers less protection from damage.
But hell no one cares so go 20-inches.

I went with 19's but I sometimes wished that I would have went 18's (wife wasn't too careful with my Z a few times, resulted in damage). Plus 18's look just as cool if you get the right wheel.
If ur in cali and don't have to worry about winter weather go 19s without question. You just have to more careful when going up or down step inclines/declines. If you are going to have winter-type weather you could just go 18s because it'll be easier and less expensive to have two sets of 18 inch tires (summer and winter). Otherwise (like me) you'll have to spend a ****e load of time putting together a winter tire and wheel set because 19s aren't the greatest for winter nor do you want to f up ur most likely very expensive rims w/ potholes, road salt, other winter hazards.
19's look better, more full in the wheel well. The tires are dark and usually disappear in the somewhat dark wheel well while the silver lip will stick out. the 19's usually fill in the well much more evenly.
However, 18's if you want more performance. They're lighter and thus have less rotational mass. This allows for quicker response time and a higher effective wheel horsepower (correct me on the horsepower thing if I'm wrong). But of course the 18's definitely look much better than the tiny 17's!
I'm still can't decide for myself so I feel ya!

I have an 03 and have 19x9.5 in front and 19x10.5 in the rear. Here is a pic of my car with my VOLK GT-7's on it so you can see what 19's look like.
I say go for the 19's, you will not be disappointed!
