Try this one on for SIZE!
1. Running 19' rims
2. Running the Brembo 14' BBK system on fronts
Question:
1. What happens if one of my tires decides to blow chunks on the road?
2. Rear ok, can use spare temp?
3. But if one of the fronts gives out-Would the spare be able to clear the BBK?
4. OPTIONS Please???? Has anyone ever thought of this situation?
Thanks for the advice.
*Totally off topic but:
Does anyone know of a wheel repair shop in the So.Cal area.
Good work, reasonable, fast turn around. Pasadena area perfer, but will travel for quality workmanship. Thanks again.

The worst that could happen is that you would need to buy a 25-30mm spacer for the spare if it doesn't clear. It's like $130(I bought my 25mm H&R hubcentric spacers used for $99usd shipped from the private classifieds) and 25mm+ spacers can be put on very easily by yourself, with the tools you would have with the spare.
So, just carry one spacer and put it in with the spare.

Its a good thing you brought this up, because I'm not sure how many people out there think like Boyscouts!
I thought about the spacer but was unsure if I would have to get longer studs in the process. I was also not sure if I could drive around for a week or so if I had to special order the tire. So I just bought a new spare rim for $90 plus a used tire and it seems to work just fine, front and rear. I just have a small hump in my carpet outback now, that space is useless anyway...
Peace of mind = priceless

If it were possible to space the spare out far enough for the calipers to clear the face of the rim, you still have to worry about clearing the inside barrel of the rim.
My advised would be to do like Zquicksilver did, by buying a cheap aftermarket rim and tire to clear the BBK, and use that as a spare or go buy an OEM 18 inch wheel. The OEM 18's will clear a 4 Pot 14inch rotor. I'm not sure if they'll clear the 6 pots though.
