Default G35 Rays 19s + Spacers

Hey guys,

I chewed off about 2-3mm of tread on one of the built-in studs on my Project Kics Spacers preventing me to screw on the lug nut. Looks like I'll need to buy a brand new set - Unless it's possible to find a replacement stud @ Home Depot or something, or someone is selling a single 15mm spacer Any ideas before I shell out another $120 for a new set?

I've got the G35 Rays 19s on my Z. But since i need a new set of 15mm spacers for the front, I just got a question:

If the G35 wheels offsets are:
19 x 8 +30 front
19 x 8.5 + 33 rear

Would it be possible to run 20mm X 20mm or even 20mm X 25mm without rubbing, fender rolling, or the wheels extending beyond the fender? Or is my current setup of 15mm X 20mm ideal?

Sorry guys, I wish I could answer this myself, but I really haven't grasped the concept of offsets and stuff.

Thanks for your help.

20mm in the front and 25mm at the rear would be ideal to push them close to the fenders

Hey thanks for the reply!

I'm @ stock ride height. Would going 20mm X 25mm cause any of the issues I'm concerned with (ie. rubbing, fender rolling, sitting outside the fender)?

Thanks!

Here are pictures of my current 15mm X 20mm Project Kics Spacers setup:

As you can see, there is still some room left to work with.

Can I change the set-up to 20mmX20mm all around or even 20mmX25mm without
running into issues of rubbing, rolling fenders, or sitting past the fenders?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

have you tried buying a tap and die set? you may be able to fix the threads that have been messed up.

go to your local tire and wheel shop. They might have a thread repair tool kit on hand, try talking to one of the tire techs they'll usually will repair it for free if they're just standing around doing nothing I used to work at Tire Warehouse and we would have the tool repair kit on hand if ever needed. Customers would come in every now and then with the same problem you had and was easily fixed unless its stripped to ****. Be sure to pass them a couple of bucks for the trouble though!

I have a set of H&R spacers in my garage I am not using. I am not sure whether they are 15mm or 20mm, although I think they are 20mm. If you're interested in them I'll give you a good price. PM if you're interested.

Hey thanks for the offer man! I'll keep you in mind - although right now I'm pretty confident I'll be upgrading to 20mm X 25mm. So I would just switch out my rears and buy a new set of 25mm. I just wish someone would chime in and give me a definitive answer on some of the issues I'm concerned with.

Paul,

I also have the G35 wheels on my car with the Tein Flex suspension, dropped about 1" all around. I use the H&R spacers as well, 20mm front and 25mm rear, no fender rolled and no rubbing issues. Here are the pictures:

Nismo604,

I believe someone has mentioned earlier in this thread that the spacers are needed to push the OEM wheels outward close to the fenders, which creates a more aggressive appearance.

Hey Danny,

Your ride looks sweet man! Thanks for the input! I'm glad to know I'm more than safe to run this set-up!
You're help was exactly what I needed man!

One last question, since the G35 rays are hubcentric already, is it still necessary/required/or recommended to use hub rings?
I only ask because AutoRnD and their distributor of Project Kics Spacers, Mackin Industries apparently won't have any hub rings until the end of January.

BOOOOOO!

Paul,

I believe the hubcentric ring is used to make sure the spacer is back to the OEM size hub bore.. IF you purchase aftermarket wheels you would need to get hub rings for those wheels. So all I have to buy were the H&R hubcentric spacers, and my friend mounted them with the wheels onto the car. Hope this helps.
