how many miles did you guys put on your stock RE040's before you got new rubber? i have around 5k miles...and man...the center tread rib is pretty much bald...those notches are gone...the tires are gettin pretty worn down (i am 18 years old tho...probably went at em a little harder than most people

lol no theyre not over inflated, kept em around 34-36 as they suggested...but i made several runs through the dragon (aka deals gap north carolina)...& yeah i figured it was mostly my fault...said they have a 4.5 on the treadwear scale of 10 on tire rack tho...thought maybe they just wore out fast & my lead foot didnt help em...regardless i dont burn em up like i did when i first got the car (was my first sports car..gimmie a break..had to have fun)

yeah i know..ive read the tire rack bar thing...seems they pretty well suck compared to other tires...im lookin at Yokohama AD07's, Toyo T1R's or maybe BFG KD's...i dont understand why you need KDW...if its wet you should be taking it easy...you're driving a rear wheel drive sports car...no need for great "wet cornering" ability..just dry cornering ^.^

Eagle F1's have the best wet traction rating out there I believe. Still, I don't put them to the test when its wet & raining, lol..they hold extremely well but there's no way I'm going to floor it around a corner. Regardless, very very noticable grip in the wet.
Dry cornering is amazing, I have a hard time breaking them loose as opposed to accidentally sliding every other turn with the RE040's.

I got 20k on my stockers, the rears were just past the wear indicator, the fronts I kept and are in my garage have ~ 35% left. ALL HIGHWAY MILES, NEVER TURNED A WHEEL...
BFG KDW2 FTW!
