Took car to dealer to change rear tire after finding a large nail in the side wall. After takeing the car home I checked the Tire Pressure Monitor and found out that the tire was still loseing air. I looked at the rim and saw that the dealer scratched the rim all arond the outer edge. Also found that the vavle was leaking the air. Thats the tire sensor. I took it to the dealer and they said that I have to talk to the service manager on Monday. So I hope they will be understanding and get me a new rim. I do not want it painted. I came in with a new rim and left with a ripped up rim. Im sure they will give me a hard time with this. Just to let you know if you have new tires put on with the stock 18's watch out!!!

this type of thing pisses me OFF!!! I had my align done at the dealer and the align machine slightly scratched my wheels, they are bear aluminum so I was able to buff most of it out, BUT it MAKES YOU SO MAD!!!!
Those Fukkos screwed up my right rear wheel too checking for a suspension problem.
The edges of the lug holes are scraped now! It seems like a small issue and it is hard to see but it still bugs me, and I am going to have them fix it!

Mam, my last GTI had the same problem. The boneheads didn't take the balancing weights off the rim before they spun it on the tire machine. Gouged the entire rim. But I didn't notice it until I got a flat a while later. So I had to live with it.
Make them give you a new rim!!

Just to let everyone know what happened to my rim problem after I went back to the dealer. The Service director was very nice and understanding, he called me back and told me how sorry that the dealer was and that every thing was going to be taken care of.
First he calls and says that the would re-surface the rim and replace my pressure monitor valve. I told him I want a new rim because the car only has 2900 miles and I took it in with a perfect rim and left with a ripped up rim. He then called me back and told me they just ordered a new rim and also rented me a car to drive while I wait for the rim to come in. I was so surprised how nice and friendly the guy was and how he took care of me with no problem at all. So I guess there are still some good dealers left out there.
