Default What 275, or 295 for front tires?

Hey guys, I'm going to be running 345/30ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport tires in the rear. I have 11" wide front wheels and need some input as to what width tires would give me the best handling the 275/35ZR19s or 295/35ZR19s?Thanks.

Go 295s if you can... steering will be heavy either way and understeer will be present, but the gap between 275 and 345 is pretty big. 295s will be more balanced with the 345s.

Also stay away from a 35 series up front and try to find a 295/30 - I know pirelli makes a tire in this size.

295/35/19 is too tall for the front, you should be looking at 295/30/19

LOL, What justification do you have for 345's in the rear??? From your sig, it looks like you have exhaust, plenum spacer and a reflash.... You realize tires that wide will slow you down if you don't have some serious power.

If you say its just for show, then that is understandable. But if you think you are going to increase performance of your car with this setup, you are sadly mistaken. The unsprung weight alone is going to kill your handling.

I can't really go Pirelli b/c Michelin is sponsoring me. They don't have a 30 in a 19 which sucks.

I have 12.5" wide wheels in the rear man and these are the only tires that will fit them from Michelin's line up. I am going to be F/I soon as well, but then I have to worry about breaking my axles.

You should take the necessary precautions then... Upgraded axles, upgrade the power steering pump/cooler. With 295's in front it is going to take a lot of effort to turn that wheel at a stand still. My 265's in front are hard enough.

do you have a widebody? I'm going to have all that done when I have the F/I installed and the clutch/flywheel. Pump should be ok, good idea on the cooler.

stick to the 275/35/19s then, they are going to be closer to stock diameter

On their website Michellin lists a 345/30 in the Pilot Sport PS2. They also list a 295/30, 305/30 and 315/25 all fit 11's. Maybe your sponsor could supply some PS2's.

I got my pick, I just thought the Pilot Sports were better for dry weather conditions since the car won't be driven in the rain or foul weather. Which are better for dry weather conditions the PS2s or Pilot Sports?

Either the pilot sports or ps2s are going to be overkill for a relatively stock Z in those sizes as far as traction is concerned, so you should just go with tires that are closest to stock diameter and are wide enough so they aren't too stretched on the wheel

I'm probably going with a TN kit or Vortech within the next month or so, just not right now as all of the bills for the car are coming in at once so I have to make sure all of my finances are in line. I guess I'll go with the PS2s for the lower profile which will look better in the shows. I don't really have a choice as far as tires go b/c the kit is 6" wider on each side, so the wheels had to be wide which makes the tires extreme as well. The size of the wheels/tires is making me lean towards the Vortech, so that I get a lot of torque down low to help move them.
