Smile hubrings?

For those members who have aftermarket wheels, did you need to use hubrings? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I sure did! And MOST aftermarket wheels require the same. Since they were not manufactured specifically for 1 application.

So did my Anterea's, MODA's, Fondmetals, Enkei's, and every other AM wheel I bought. They are suppossed to, but you can always get em' from a reputable tire shop.

yeah, my Volk CE28N's came with the plastic ones, I decided to go with metal ones instead. I've got a few extra sets if anyone here needs them for their Volks or other wheels with a 73mm bore.

It's possible that you could develop a vibration, and add extra stress to the studs/lug nuts.

The wheel is designed to "sit" vehicle's hub, while the lug nuts hold it in place. If the vehicles hub doesn't mate with the wheel, then your lug nuts/studs are basically left to do the job of both.

Most good tire places will give you a set of plastic ones for free when you get your wheels. If they forget, you can just stop by and ask nicely. When I got my race wheels from America's Tire, they forgot the hub rings. I used a lugcentric mounting arrangement (where the lugs hold the wheel centered) and it worked fine, but was a royal pain to change wheels before and after races (because you have to support the wheel as you tighten the lug nuts so that everyting is centerd nicely and so you don't scratch the rim holes with your socket). I went back to America's Tire and they orderd the lug rings and I just picked them up when they arrived. No cost to me.

I was looking at getting some mustang wheels to use on my car for drag racing, but I have no idea what size their hub is or what size our hub is. Does anyone know either one???

Tirerack wouldn't help me. I wonder if discounttiredirect would?
