Talking Best Rims under $300 is there any? Import Newbie here!

I'm new to the import scene. I've owned 3 Jeeps before my Z so obviously I'm really out of it. I dont need $700 rims. I'm just looking for some good looking 18's in bronze or black for around 300. What are some good brands to look for and what are some to stay away from. Thanks for any and all help for this newbie.

i would also look into the Enkei RPF-1 (18" due to arrive in a couple of months) as well as the RC5's.

i am considering the 17x9 and 17x10 for autocross only.

RPF-1

RC5

Don't know how pricing is going to be but i hope they're below $300 each.

Doh!!! the RC5s are listed at $426 - $585 in 18's...for that much i'll stick to another set of TE37's.

What about brands like 5zigen, Konig or G-games? I've seen some models of theirs I like.

Why do you want $300 rims on a 30K car? You will be downgrading.

If I'm racing it yeah I can see buying $6-700 rims. But like the 85% of us who just drive it for normal daily driving and maybe a little drag off a green light, I'd be happy with cheaper better looking wheels. Yeah sure I'd like the Volk TE-37's but I'd be just as happy with something that looks similar for half the price. higher price does not always equal better quality by the way. I'm sure there is a lot of rims that are better and lighter than the stock 17" ones for around 300 per rim. Thanks

you don't know Volk Racing or Rays Engineering very well. Forged aluminum and lightweight...they also do forged magnesium and most teams in japan as well as japanese race cars that race at le mans use volk from rays. With forged wheels you get bends to repair or better yet multi-piece replaceable parts like the GT series from Volk. Cheap knockoffs are heavy and low tech cast...they don't bend...they crack and break. But if looks are what its about then do what you want but please don't make any claims that quality is absent from highend wheels...in this case you get what you paid for. innovation owns duplication.

Never claimed to be an expert on Rays wheels. It was a general statement by the way. You don't always get what you pay for. I even said I'd love the Volk TE37. I don't plan on racing in Japan or Le mans anytime soon, do you? Like I said in my first post I'm a newbie to this stuff so I just wanted some input and to not be persecuted for wanting rims for less than $300. I wouldnt necessarily call a $300 wheel a cheap knockoff. I had $160 Centerline Hellcats on my Jeep before I sold it. If you know anything about the offroading world you'll see those are some of the most popular wheels for trucks of all shapes, sizes and prices. And like I stated in my last post I'm sure there are better quality, better looking, lighter wheels than the factory 17's for under $300. I'm sure not everyone out there is running $600 wheels. Thanks to anyone who wants to help.

snide remark? i assumed the remark about quality vs price and that may hold true but in this situation i don't regret paying what i did for my volks. And i do intend on autocrossing and speed trials in legal sanctioned SCCA events. I did try to help with the enkeis above.

I've owned konigs years back on my integra which cracked rendering them useless and leaving me with the thought that i just wasted $900 when i couldve saved and spent twice that for quality. This is my second set of Volks (first being Volk III's) and if later i can't go volk or even enkei (used to have 18" RP-01s on a JZA80 Supra) then for me i'll stay stock.

Inevitably, it's your choice but i've found very few wheels that were $500+ that weren't worth the money in terms of my own cars as well as customer cars.

I've been on the other side of this argument. I had 18" Racing Hart C5 3 Piece rims. ~$600 a piece and they had P-zeros on them. I had one of the tires blow out on the highway and in getting to the side of the road I bent the rim. It was pretty bad and basically I was left with the option of paying another $600 to replace that rim and another $225 to replace the tire. That was $800+ of cost to me.

To answer your question, look into the Axis S7 Mod, they aren't the cheapest, but then again they won't cost you a grand to replace either.

OZ Superleggra's, some of the 5zigen's look pretty decent, I think SCC used some PRO-N1'a (something to that effect, they were a six spoke in bronze, not even sure if they are made by 5zigen). The G-Games is made by Ray's and they look great, if the price is right I would go that route.

my rims weren't over 300 and aren't a downgrade from the stock wheels. they are lighter, stronger, wider and can fit a wide variety of tire sizes. i'm not the only one with these rims. if you think a 30k sports car is expensive then you are dreaming.
