If you use your head, you'll be fine. But with these tires, you seem to have to be more careful than with others.

I think that "Nittos suck in the rain" because they are a cheaper brand of tire and the younger people who don't have lots of money to buy good tires, also have not been driving that many years and that's why there are more wipeouts in the rain with Nitto's.

It's not the tires but peoples right foot. You can't expect to take a given turn at 90 on a dry day and do the same when it rains.

Be that as it may, most of the big Lowrider shows are sponsored by Nitto. That counts, doesn't it?

These tires are very good on dry roads but are very prone to hydroplaning when the road is wet. Even with safe wet road driving...

I would invest a little more to get a better dry/wet tire.

CHECK MY SIG!!!
Avoid them! Those people who say Nitto 555s are good obviously
don't drive hard enough and don't drive in the rain.
Dry traction is mediocore at best, and wet traction is simply ABYZMAL.
On rainy days, my car literally skate across the freeway
Please spend 50-100 more dollars per tires and pick up some Michellin Pilot PS2 or Goodyear Eagle GS D3

Sure but are they actually running Nittos to get those times? The answer is no. Jotech here in town, owner is Kenny Tran if you guys have ever heard of him, is sponsored big time by Nitto, but have you ever seen him run Nittos for anything besides show cars? He runs slicks at the racetrack. His shop pushes Nitto tires. His crew runs Nittos on their personal cars. That's what the sponsorship means. It doesn't relate to the performance of the tires. Nitto tires hit it big in the mid 90s for one major reason:

Cheap affordable low profile performance tires with a wide application selection range for tuners.

Nittos has not been proven in any world circuits nor has it proven itself superior in any way compared to the other major tire manufactures on the race track or in real life.

I was wondering if anyone is using these tires? I've heard great things about them but I've never actually ridden in a car with them.

I use to drive a scion tc and Jotech has pretty much the nicest tC around. I think it was putting down something in the high 500 hp range.

All that power and the car was never even taken to the track. The owner decided to put 20" rims on it and make it a dyno queen.

After seeing him do that I really wouldn't take any of his tire advice.
