Tire Balance
I'm feeling (in the steering wheel) light vibration at speed above 40 MPH.
I have researched & read that this is likely a tire balance issue. (if not
then maybe CV joint(s) )
Can a tire store check & confirm this ?
how much would be the charge ?
thanks

Not true. Rear wheel drive cars with independent rear suspensions typically use CV joints at the ends of the rear axle halfshafts but the symptoms are a bit different when they become problematic.

I agree with the front not having a CV joint, I was just clearing up the fact that they are not exclusive to FWD cars only since most people equate them to FWDs. That is why I said the symptoms are different. Tire balancing, the most likely culprit of his problem, has nothing to do with alignment. Basic alignment adjusts/corrects camber, caster, and toe. It has nothing to do with the tire weights. The only time an alignment is affected by the tires is when they are unevenly worn.

oh, i forgot to mention that happened as well, due to the alignment being out of whack. but anyway, it got fixed and i had no more vibration at highway speeds. i just mentioned that i had multiple problems with mine when i had the rattle, it would not hurt to get it all checked out. save a trip to the shop
