ok, another question. i had just bought rims, and the offsets are +20 all around

now the offset calculator says this:

inner clearance - 4mm more

outer clearance - extend an extra 16mm (1 inch)

does this mean my rims will stick OUT an extra inch?

16mm doesn't equal 1 inch, 25mm~1 inch

Good to see someone using the calculator. It means that the outer edge of the tire will be 16 mm closer to the inside of the fender.

lol im 18, no. I don't put myself at risk of a highspeed death. What is it about a +15 offset that causes it to be dangerous? or is this entire thread bogus?

Well, any offsets from 16 on, 15 push the wheel closer to the wheel hub, making the wheels safer. Now, the tricky thing is, that when the offsets are less than 15, the wheels actually stay on by gyro rotational forces that I can't describe. 15's however, cause a vibration that tears away at the wheel hub and eventually snaps the wheel off. That's why the government stepped in, in 1978, to ban 15 offsets from most states. Whoever sold you 15 offset wheels should be ashamed.

Enkei makes them. as in the Enkei that provides wheels for Mercedes-McLaren Formula 1 team. Tirerack.com sold them to me. I severely doubt they would tear to pieces at 150 miles per hour, but if they do I guess my parents can be rich, just remind them to file a wrongful death suit after I die.

no? regardless I cant see how a single piece heat treated race wheel could tear apart from rotational forces. I know its alot of stress, but wheel technology has improved significantly over the past 28 years. if they posed a safety hazard tirerack wouldnt sell them, it's too risky. getting sued for millions to sell a few 500 dollar wheels? its a multimillion dollar organization, they wouldnt bother
