Question Help me plz...car is not going straight!!!

hey guys,

i just got an alignment done to my car

but my car is still pulling right

in order to drive straight, i have to turn my steering wheel slightly to the right

do i need to have something else done in order for my car to go straight?

thanks

If the alignment is straight and it still pulls have them adjust the steering wheel. If that doesn't help then you might have radial pull coming from the tires.

Edit: No Joke..if you are fat have them do the alignment with you in the car. It makes a difference.

That was cruel to say in front of Tubbs. But true, and in fact gas tank should be at a good level

If your car pulls, they fukced up on the alignment or you have a belt separated tire. Have your tires balanced first at a quality place. Then if that chcks out take it back to the aligner and tell them if they cant do it right you want your money back and take it to a place that knows what they are doing

BTW--Steering wheel is apples and oranges---If it is aligned properly it could be at 2 oclock and the car will drive sraight with your hands off it. A cocked steering wheel is an inconvience and sloppy details on the part of the aligner but is a separate entity

LOL I was really serious about the fat comment. I've seen alignments "gone wrong" several times even though the tech swears everything was in spec. Turns out the owner of the car was fat and he was throwing everything out of wack. As for the tires, it may not be a separated belt. If he did have a separated belt that would be very easy to spot on the balancer. This is what he should do:

1) Make sure the alignment is good

2) Check the tires for separated belts or uneven wear. If you have bad alignment wear from your old tires then the pattern is already set. You might need a new set of front to correct the problem.

3) If both of the above checks out then you might have what they called radial pull from an out of round tire. Have the tire techs do an 180 on the front tires and rebalance them. If that does work then have them swap the tires in the front. If the problem goes away or the car starts pulling the other way then you will know for sure it's the tires.

If it is pulling right, then it may be the gf in the passenger seat. Boat bumpers hanging out on the starboard side could cause it too.

Does the vehicle pull to one side? Alignment should take care of the problem.

Is the steering wheel of center?
Disconnect the linkage.
Center the steering wheel.
Put the linkage back together.

Is this something I can do myself with minimal skill and tools? Mine came from the factory with the steering wheel slightly off center. (Alignment is good, just minor inconvenience/looks issue)
