Default Tire Size

OK i searched for quite a bit, and got mixed responses.

I just bought a set of rims, and i'm trying to buy tires for them but unsure what size i should go with, here are the specs:

Front : 19X9.5, 20mm offset
Rear:19x9.5, 35mm offset

I was thinking of doing 245's up front and 275's in the rear. Also, would that setup give me any rubbing issues without rolling the fenders? Thanks in advance.

Rubbing with that offset? You'll clear all day like a champ dropped. BTW that's a funny looking setup you got there. You're front lips are larger than your rears. You might want to swap them around. As far as the tires go they will work.

Yea, not a bad idea. But if i swap them around, won't the front wheels be more flush to the fenders than the rears?

You have 2 wheels that are the same size, both 19 x 9.5s, but with different offsets. The smaller, or more negative the offset, the more the wheel is going to be pushed outwards towards the fenders.

Gotcha. Offset has always been a little confusing to me, but it makes more sense now. Maybe they labeled the wheels wrong in the description, and the 20mm was intended for the rear...

That's what happens when you buy used wheels off of craigslist.

OK the tires i want aren't available in the sizes i listed in my first post. In order to get them i would have to go with 235/35/19 F, and 265/30/19 R...i plugged these sizes into the calculator and they seem to check out fine for not having any VDC issues. Can anyone confirm these sizes will be ok?

You'll Kill the stagger with the 30 series on the back. Stay with the 35 series. 265/35/19. Of course better still will be 245/35/19 and 275/35/19.

The front tires are taller than the rear. Thats not going to work.

You're right. Looks like i'm just going to have to pay more and get the 245/35, and 275/35 setup. Better start saving up

I believe he is right to go to the 30 series in the rear. For the width change, he will gain height. I have confirmed this with a guy I know who is a Toyo rep. Allow me to suggest the following:

Find the tires you really want and contact the customer service dept. for the Mfg. They can get you to someone in their sales division or motorsport division that can help you with this very question. Not only that, they will know the specs for the exact tire you are using and can give you their (the Mfg's) best solution. Then, if there is an issue, you can point the finger at them for their error and they will usually make it right....but they are usually right on with fitment information. Also, they can tell you every size they offer in that tire. Not every shop offers every size.

If you want a value, high performance tire, check the Falken RT-615. For the money, I don't think you can beat it.

Just my

OK, sorry for being a complete n00b about this, but i found a set of decent tires for a good price. Only thing is they are only available 245/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear. I think this might be good.

The front tires are taller than the rear. How about calling Tire Rack, and let them pick tires for you.

I've been using this calc. found in the stickies here. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit . When i plus in the 245/35/19, and 275/35/19, it gives the error message saying they are out of the 3% range. That's why i'm trying to plug in other sizes, not b/c i can't comprehend.
