Wire wheels only look good on old classic cars. There's alot of maintenance involved with true wire wheels too from what I've heard.

Wire wheels are about the most dangerous thing you can put on a car IMO. Anyone who is familiar with how they are put on a car (center "locking" hub which basically just screws on then you beat it with a rubber mallet to make it tight) and has any clue about performance cars would not ever consider this.

+1 there many very good reasons why they stopped using them a long time ago.

they stopped using them for the same reasons Pirates stopped breeding: they were just too cool for school. society couldn't handle it, so they left to live on their own island in the arctic.

Dont know man I've seen these type of wheels on a 300ZX 2+2 with the driver's hispanic last name in gothic lettering and chrome trimings all around the fenders. They had 13" reversible wire daytons spaced out way past the fenders with 185/75/13s stretched across the wheels. Anything is possible.

I've seen these rims on a early 90's suzuki sidekick I liked it, I could see how someone would think the rims would flow with the lines of the car.
