Default my OEM wheel lock shattered !!!

i took my wheels off today and when i was putting it back on, the wheel lock lug nut shattered. i plan to call the dealership and make them pay to replace it because it has to count as a defect (my 2005 is still under warrenty). i didn't even use an airtool. i just twisted really hard with both hands and it shattered (and i'm a skinny guy). i'm sure the stealership will try to not pay for it. how should i bring this up to them. any advice is greatly appreciated. also, i'm concern if they can remove it at all, not too much of that lug is left.

Probably the most they will do for you is to get the locking nut off the car. You'll have to reorder a new key.

The Wheel Lock Key Broke on me this weekend. Was changing out my 20's to put my stocks on for the upcoming winter and on the last wheel it just cracked. Luckily Autozone happen to have the same locks and key. Took the key out put my old key in the box and walked rite up out of there. WOO WOO!

OEM wheel locks are probably made from pig iron in China. Its what I would expect.

If you weren't using a torque wrench to tighten, then you were probably using way too much force.

I destroyed a McGard wheel lock because I cranked down on it hard. Once I started using a torque wrench, I realized how over-board I was going.

WOW...they actually took care of the problem, and did not charge you?
Amazing, almost unbelievable from a Nissan dealership.
I'm glad it all worked out for you.
