Default 19 or 20"? or is 20 to big?

aright i might be start struck by all the car shows ive been to and looking at z's allll the time but ive seen alot of 20's on the z and alot of 19's and alot of 18's..ill just drop my opinion befor i ask if anyone has anythin they can throw in on this..18's are obviously the lighter of the 3 but i also am looking for the deep dish look..i had a few sets picked out that im looking at already with deep dish and 18's (to me) look extra small when there pushed deep into a rim. The 19's i like almost as much as the 20's the only thing really stoping me is sumtimes i wanna say those rims are to big when i see a z but other times i see 20's on a z and jus like damnnnn thas sexy..performance wise go smaller would be better but 20's jus look sexxxy as hell i think..wat do u think i should do not really sure ???

Rims that are on the top of my list right now
1.
2. ....or the SEVAS S7..jus google it an click images for pics of them..either in black or chrome

It sounds like English, but I can't understand a word you're saying.

I'm just going to sit here and watch you argue with yourself.

Looks=20's

Looks & performace= 19's

Performance & Track car= 18's

I like 20's. Some like 18's. I think 18's look ugly. It's up to you. /THREAD

Ugly 18s

19s + drop = teh sex and big enough IMO. 20s are overdoing it, especially if you don't drop it because you join the 4x4 status.

Very few 19's don't look oversized on the Z. 18's always look good because they look like they fit the car.

In pictures 19's can look decent, but every set I have seen in person look out of place because they are too big. I just don't see it worth the extra money and limited choices of tires to go to a 19 or especially not a 20" wheel.... that's not even discussing the extra wear on your brakes and the hit on performance due to weight and diameter.

If you run a G35c, 19's and even 20's fit the car a bit more and are fine. For the Z car though, stick to 18's

I would agree if you would have said "18 inch wheels with big lips look really tiny". I think my 18" concaves look pretty damn good.

As has been said already though, go for the 19s'. You will be happier in the long run. With the right drop and tire size the 19's will fill the gap and look HAWT.

You do realize that whether it is an 18, 19 or 20" wheel, the overal diameter is the same? You are just changing the how much of that diameter is wheel or tire. a 19 is not going to "fill the gap" any more than an 18" wheel. The 19 will just fill it more with wheel and less with tire.

With the proper tire sizing, yes I would agree that they 'should' all net the same diameter. Visually though, with more tire, an 18" 'may' look smaller and thereby not 'filling the gap' visually, not meaning physically. This of course also depends on the wheel style. I feel my 18" wheels look bigger than some other 18" wheels due to the spoke design.

This is true. It depends on the rim. Crazy offsets in an 18 look wierd to me. The rims the OP posted are fawking hot as hell- to me. A lot of you JDM tite types would call them "ricer" for what ever generic reason that has been coded into your brain.

My reccomendation is an 18'' front/19'' rear or 19'' front/20'' rear(what I run). I think this looks best since the sidewall profiles are the same. The smaller front wheel/larger rear wheel set-ups are becoming increasingly popular with drifters/Time Attackers because of the same sidewall profile.
How does going up to 19'' wheels reduce your choice of tires? 20'' does but not 19''.

I definitely love the R77. I can't recall ever seeing them on a Z. To me, the originality factor plays a big role. I know I don't want my Z to be another 'gingerbread man' on the cookie tray of life.

I'm trying to save the environment man. The less toasters used the better

OP needs to look at pictures of different size wheels on cars before he decides. I HOPE he plans on dropping it.

Personally, I picked the tires I wanted to run first and then picked a rim to accomodate. Many of my choices only came in 18" sizes. The tires I run now (Falken Azenis RT-615s) don't come in sizes larger than 18".

To the OP: It seems that your primary concern is looks, so get what looks good to you. That being said, my personal opinion is that 20" wheels look bad on the Z. They just look oversized and "cartoonish" to me. I'm also a little prejudice of people who put 20's on a sports car. I feel like they're "busters" or something, like they're all package and no content; all bark and no bite. I don't know.

How about buy some better wheels in 19's, instead of getting 20's and Sevas...

20's 19's and 18's all look good if done rite. In the end its up to you what you want. I'm rocking 20's for the summer, and my Z is lowered. I get a lot of compliments on the car. Rite now for fall and winter I running with my stock 18's and since the car is dropped it looks real nice. Its all a matter of choice.

Since were on the subject. I was thinking of installing spacers for my stockers. Any idea on sizes for the spacers?
